Methodology

Stratforex is a contraction meaning strategic foreign exchange. It is the ultimate approach towards fx trading: a diverse family of uncorrelated automated fx strategies. As new strategies are developed, or market conditions change, we can add them to your stratforex portfolio. Also, if there are strategies that are performing poorly, they can be weeded out over time. This smoothes the return curve, maximizing potential profits and minimizing potential drawdowns. For example, it is highly unlikely that all strategies will be wrong, all the time, consecutively.

Trading Philosophy

Our philosophy is that the best way to trade fx is pure systematic trading based on mathematical models. Human traders, even well skilled, become tired, emotional, sick, etc. - that's what makes us human. Sometimes, we don't feel like getting up in the morning, or are in a bad mood. This can severely affect even the greatest traders professional approach towards the markets. Stratforex systems are mathematical models based on various formulas.

Systematic trading also provides us with the ability to do extensive backtesting and analysis. How did the strategy perform under various market conditions in the past? Risk Management

Stratforex automatically places accounts based on pre-defined size levels. Each trade has a stop loss and maximum risk per trade. Client decides on his account's risk appetite, and trades are executed. While not all trades will be positive, it would be unlikely that every consecutive trade would be a loss. Even if that were the case, it would take a considerable amount of time for the account value to drop significantly. This works for profit as well. Basically there is an exact ratio to risk vs. reward. The more the account risks, the more reward, and more potential for loss.
